Alfred Galichon is a Full Professor of Economics at NYU Arts & Science and a Full Professor of Mathematics at NYU Courant Institute. He also directs NYU Paris and holds an affiliated professorship at the NYU Center for Data Science. Additionally, he is a Principal Investigator for the ERC grant 'EQUIPRICE' at Sciences Po Paris. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and has authored influential books such as Optimal Transport Methods in Economics.
Education: PhD in Economics from Harvard University (2007), Corps des Mines from École des Mines de Paris (2003), Engineering degree from École Polytechnique (2000).
Research focuses on optimal transport theory, econometrics, and their applications in economics. He created the 'math+econ+code' masterclass series, blending mathematics, economics, and computation. His work on vector quantile regression and equilibrium transport models has been published in top journals like the Annals of Statistics.
Awards include recognition as a Fellow of the Econometric Society and grants like the ERC 'EQUIPRICE' project. His research also involves programming tools like the TRaME software for transportation methods in econometrics.
