Alfonso Panzetta is a Professor at Ababo's School of Restoration, Department of Art History. He teaches History of Medieval Art (ABST47) across multiple restoration programs including Wooden Materials, Stone Materials, and Library/Archival Material, as well as History of Applied Arts (ABST48) for Wooden Materials restoration.
His research focuses on Medieval Art, Applied Arts, and Italian Sculpture from Neoclassicism to the 20th century. Panzetta explores underdocumented areas such as "Animaliers" in Italian sculpture and has authored comprehensive reference works on sculptors.
His publications demonstrate expertise spanning Romanesque to Gothic art, Renaissance to modern applied arts, and specialized sculptural genres. Key trends include interdisciplinary analysis of major and minor arts within European historical contexts.

- 2004 Culture Prize from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for his New Dictionary of Italian Sculptors
Panzetta serves as Scientific Director of the Cassero for 19th and 20th Century Italian Sculpture Documentation Centre and Civic Museum of Montevarchi. His teaching methodology combines PowerPoint lectures with individual exercises and museum field trips to institutions like Davia Bargellini Museum in Bologna.
His office hours are held in person on Mondays (11:30 AM-1:00 PM), Tuesdays (1:30-3:00 PM), and Wednesdays (11:30 AM-1:00 PM) at the Restoration School.
