Alfonso García Lapeña

Alfonso García Lapeña is a Juan de la Cierva fellow in philosophy of science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), working under Jordi Vallverdú. His research centers on truthlikeness for scientific laws and the philosophy of video games.

García Lapeña's primary research focuses on truthlikeness (closeness to the truth) for deterministic and probabilistic scientific laws. Concurrently, he explores philosophical dimensions of video games, examining intersections between art, science, and interactive media through Game Studies.

His publication trajectory since 2019 reveals dual scholarly pathways: rigorous theoretical work in philosophy of science (notably truthlikeness frameworks) and applied Game Studies research. Recent outputs analyze video game museums, cinematic representation in slow cinema, and foundational questions about gaming ontology, demonstrating consistent interdisciplinary integration.
