Aleš Novák serves as an Associate Professor in Philosophy and Philosophical Anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, Prague. He leads the excellence center for Advanced Phenomenological Research and contributes significantly to the Department of Philosophy.

His research centers on phenomenological inquiry and philosophical anthropology, with a focus on establishing foundational frameworks for interdisciplinary dialogue. Novák founded the Czech Yearbook for Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, serving as chief editor for four volumes (2011–2014), which catalyzed scholarly exchange in Central European phenomenology.
Novák has supervised scientific teams and organized international workshops through the Advanced Phenomenological Research center. His editorial work established a critical platform for emerging phenomenological scholarship, while his teaching spans Czech, English, and German language instruction in philosophical texts.
He previously managed entrance examinations for the Faculty of Humanities (2001–2003) and collaborated with Czech publishers on academic translations. International engagements include visiting positions at Oxford University, Wuppertal University, and Tübingen University.
