معرفی
Alexis Khelfi is a researcher at the University of Namur within the Faculty of Sciences. Their work focuses on biochemistry, molecular biology, and dermatology, with particular emphasis on cellular senescence, amino acid balance, and mitochondrial proteins. They contribute to research aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in areas related to skin health and cellular aging.
Their 2023 publication in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology explores how UVB-induced senescence in keratinocytes disrupts amino acid homeostasis, linking mitochondrial dysfunction to skin aging. This work intersects with subfields like UVB-induced cellular stress, amino acid metabolism, and molecular mechanisms of senescence.
Khelfi completed their Master's thesis in 2017 on the mitochondrial protein MPV17 and its role in cell proliferation, supervised by Prof. Pierre Renard and Prof. Thierry Arnould.
