Alexey Grots is a Senior Lecturer and Correpetitor in the Department of Brass, Wind & Percussion Studies at the Mozarteum University, Austria. His expertise spans historical performance practice and contemporary interpretation, with a focus on piano and chamber music.
Education:
- Studied at the Moscow State Conservatory (2007–?) under Vera Khoroschina, specializing in historical instruments and composition with Alexei Lubimov, Yuri Martynov, and Konstantin Batashov.
- Continued training in Jacques Rouvier's class at the Mozarteum University since 2012.
Research & Performance: Grots specializes in Baroque/Classical works (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven) and 20th-century composers (Schoenberg, Prokofiev). He collaborates with ensembles like Alexei Lubimov's group, performing projects on Schönberg, Schubert, and Ustvolskaya. Notable achievements include arranging Berg’s *Wozzeck* for chamber ensemble and recording Soviet-era compositions.
