Alexandros X.M. Ntovas

Alexandros X.M. Ntovas is Associate Professor of Maritime Law and former Director of the Institute of Maritime Law at Southampton Law School. His expertise spans ocean governance, navigational freedoms, and emerging technologies.

Research highlights:

• Regulation of autonomous shipping under UNCLOS
• Coastal state jurisdiction and EEZ management
• Hybrid threats to maritime security

Supervises 4 PhD students on topics including Arctic shipping and fisheries law. Teaches admiralty law, law of the sea, and marine environmental law.
