Alexandre Eyriès is a Researcher authorized to direct research in Information and Communication Sciences at the Catholic University of the West (UCO), affiliated with the Center for Humanities and Societies (CHUS) and the Faculty of Humanities. He specializes in digital political communication (Poli-tweet Communication), media cultures, and sociological analysis of digital technologies. He holds a PhD from the University of Burgundy (2018) and a Doctorate in French Language and Civilization from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (2009).
His research focuses on political communication (both classical and digital), political representation in the digital age, republican ceremonial practices, and narrative journalism. He has authored 12 books, directed 3 scientific works, and contributed to numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as Recherches en Communication, Hermès, and Revues Françaises des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on digital culture, communication history, media anthropology, and intercultural communication across UCO campuses in Niort, Nantes, and Angers. His work frequently addresses contemporary issues like cyber-addiction, digital democracy, and the intersection of technology with political legitimacy.
Research collaborations include international workshops on political communication legitimacy and participatory democracy. He is frequently cited in French and international media for his expertise on digital political discourse and institutional communication.
