Alexandra Sastrawati is a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore's Department of Sociology and Anthropology, concurrently pursuing a Ph.D. in medical and urban anthropology at Princeton University. Her work bridges interdisciplinary research in anthropology, architecture, and creative arts, focusing on global mental health, urban marginality, and postcolonial urban dynamics.

Research Interests: She explores intersections between mental health, urban space, and creative expression through ethnography and visual methods. Her work spans the Netherlands, Britain, Japan, and Singapore, examining queer artists', migrants', and laypeople's artmaking and care practices in marginalized urban contexts.
Publications & Activities: Featured in e-flux Architecture (2022) and Tendon Magazine (2023). Exhibitions include CIVA Brussels (2022). Upcoming presentations at Aristotle University (Thessaloniki) and AAA/CASCA (Toronto). Multilingual poetic performance planned for Tokyo (Japanese UK Poetry Exchange).

Fieldwork & Methods: Combines ethnography, archival research, and visual documentation. Based in Singapore since 2023. Uses photography (Sony Alpha/Leica) and experimental writing to interrogate urban and mental health landscapes.
