Alexandra Murray-Leslie

Alexandra Murray-Leslie is a Professor of Digital Performance at the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art (NTNU), part of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. She holds an honorary Professorship at the University of Technology Sydney's School of Computer Science. Her work spans art, music, technology, and activism, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainable innovation.

Education: PhD from the Creativity and Cognition Studios at the University of Technology Sydney, focusing on body-centric musical instrument design.

Research interests include telematic improvisation, digital performance, sustainable practices in art, and merging technology with humanistic expression. She co-founded the art band Chicks on Speed, exploring intersections of pop music, activism, and technology.

Recent projects include the 'Real-Time Telematic Audiovisual Improvisation' (2019–2025) funded by Norway's international education agency and the 'MEATigation' initiative addressing sustainable meat practices. She advises major festivals like Sonar Barcelona and curates events for A Shaded View on Fashion Film.

Grants and collaborations involve the Research Council of Norway and global institutions. She leads initiatives like 'Shared Campus' for transnational creative practices and 'The Irreplaceable Human' exhibition interrogating AI's impact on creativity.
