Alexandra Moutaftchieva is a Lecturer and Undergraduate Program Director in the School of Building Construction at Georgia Institute of Technology, part of the College of Design. She holds a bachelor's degree in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University and a master's in Building Construction and Facility Management from Georgia Tech.
With ten years of industry experience at Turner Construction, her expertise spans project management, preconstruction, and delivery of projects ranging from small renovations to large-scale commercial and healthcare builds. She teaches core courses such as Introduction to Construction Management, Plans and Estimates, and Advanced Project Management, emphasizing practical applications of industry tools.
Alex actively coaches student competition teams and collaborates with the American Council for Construction Education to refine curriculum standards. Her work bridges academic theory with real-world construction challenges, focusing on preconstruction strategies for successful project outcomes.
