Alexandra Lopez

Alexandra Lopez is a Full Professor of Teaching at Rutgers University, licensed by the NJ Department of Education as a School Supervisor. She holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and an M.A. in Counseling Education from Kean University, with additional post-graduate studies in Education and Administration. She is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol Drug Counselor, Certified Clinical Supervisor, Certified Prevention Specialist, Board Certified Professional Counselor, and Licensed Professional Life Coach.

Her research focuses on clinical supervision in addictions counseling, cultural competency, and healthcare provision within the Latino community. She teaches undergraduate courses including 'Drugs, Culture, and Society' and 'Science of Prevention.' Her practice areas span health policy, public health, and social policy. She serves on the Piscataway Public Schools Board of Education and consults nationally on clinical program development for Substance Use Disorders.

With 20+ years in addictions counseling and 15 years training professionals, Lopez provides workshops, motivational speaking, and continuing education across New Jersey and beyond. Her advocacy for the Latino community combines private practice expertise with policy-level influence.
