Alexandra Kleeman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Literatures in English at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. She specializes in creative writing and literary theory, with research focusing on ecological writing, experimental poetics, and speculative fiction. Her work explores themes such as climate catastrophe, embodiment, and late-capitalist realism.
Her publications include the novel Something New Under the Sun (2021), the short story collection Intimations, and the novel You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine. Her fiction and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and The New York Times Magazine, among others.
- Recipient of the Rome Prize, Berlin Prize, Bard Fiction Prize, and a 2022 Guggenheim Fellowship in Fiction.
- Affiliated with institutions like MacDowell, Djerassi, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
