Alexandra Glazier is an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Practice in Health Services, Policy and Practice at Brown University’s School of Public Health, where she teaches courses in public health leadership and health law. She concurrently serves as President & CEO of New England Donor Services (NEDS), a top-3 US organ procurement organization, leading initiatives that increased regional donors by 80% since 2020. NEDS has been recognized as a top 100 Female-Led Business (2018–2024).
Her education includes a BA in Bioethics from Brown University, a JD-MPH from Boston University, and prior faculty roles at Boston University School of Law (2006–2014). Professional leadership roles include OPTN Board member, Ethics Committee Chair, and ACOT appointee. She previously practiced health law at Ropes & Gray and served as NEDS’ General Counsel before becoming CEO.
Research focuses on organ donation policy, ethics, and legal frameworks. Key contributions include addressing racial equity in donation practices, optimizing organ procurement systems, and navigating regulatory challenges in transplantation. Her work bridges clinical, legal, and policy dimensions of healthcare systems.
Publications span over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book sections, emphasizing legal pathways in donation, transplant ethics, and policy innovation. Awards reflect her organizational leadership in advancing equitable organ donation systems.
