معرفی
Dr. Alexander Weide is a Researcher at the Department of Archaeology, University of Cambridge, specializing in environmental archaeology with a focus on past agro-ecology and the development of agricultural systems in southwest Asia, Turkey, and the Caucasus. His work centers on analyzing archaeobotanical remains preserved through carbonization, including crop residues, weed seeds, processed foods, and dung-related materials.
- Expertise in plant functional ecology
- Specialization in stable isotope analysis
- Geometric morphometrics (GMM) applications
- Focus on manuring, irrigation, and tillage systems
- Interest in crop domestication processes
- Exploration of agro-biodiversity through subfossil remains
His research expands traditional cereal and pulse cultivation analysis to include millet systems and dung-derived ecological implications. Dr. Weide welcomes collaborative projects involving novel methodological combinations, particularly in analyzing recently collected archaeobotanical samples. His work bridges ecological modeling with isotopic and morphometric data to reconstruct Neolithic agricultural intensification.
