Alexander Romanenko is a Fermilab Senior Scientist and Chief Project Executive in the Applied Physics and Superconducting Technology Division (APSTD). He leads the SQMS Center's Quantum Technology Thrust and serves as Devices Focus Area Lead and 3D QPU Lead. His expertise includes superconducting radio frequency (SRF) technology for accelerators and quantum applications. He founded Fermilab's first material science and experimental superconducting quantum labs, pivotal in establishing the SQMS Center.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University
Research Interests: Focuses on SRF cavity performance optimization, nitrogen doping mechanisms, niobium oxide dissolution methods, and quantum device integration. His work bridges fundamental materials science with applied quantum technologies, aiming to achieve high-coherence quantum systems.
