Alexander R. Gottschalk

Dr. Alexander R. Gottschalk serves as Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), where he has held faculty positions since 2001 and currently directs the CyberKnife Radiosurgery Program as Associate Professor.

His research spans intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) for sarcomas and renal cell carcinoma, brachytherapy for prostate cancer, and leadership in multi-institutional clinical trials through RTOG for esophageal, lung, and prostate cancers. He specializes in CyberKnife stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for lung, prostate, and kidney malignancies alongside superficial radiation treatment for Dupuytren’s and Ledderhose disease.
