Alexander Pelz

Alexander Pelz serves as Research Associate and Secretary at the Chair of Modern History including Regional History within the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies at the University of Bamberg. Since joining the institution in 2017, he has progressed from student assistant roles to his current dual academic positions, contributing to research, administration, and academic events coordination.

His educational foundation includes:

• Master's in History and Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies (2020-2022), with thesis on Imperial Chamber Court feuds
• Bachelor's in parallel fields (2016-2020)

Pelz's research centers on Medieval and Early Modern History through regional lenses, particularly Bamberg's political and religious landscapes. He examines violence mechanisms, cultural mediation between European and Arab worlds, and archaeological interpretations of power structures. His work consistently bridges textual archives with material evidence to reconstruct localized historical narratives.
