Prof. Alexander Lindau is a Full Professor of Audio-, Video-, and Media Technology at Berlin University of Technology's Department for Theatre and Event Technology. He leads the Laboratory for Theatre and Event Technology within the Mechanical Engineering faculty. His career includes roles such as Lab Manager at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics and Research Associate at TU Berlin. Lindau holds a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) from TU Berlin (2014) and a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences (2006).
His research focuses on Virtual Acoustics, Binaural Technology, and Spatial Hearing Psychophysics. Notable projects include the SAQI audio quality inventory and studies on dynamic binaural synthesis authenticity. He collaborates with institutions like the Audio Communication Group (TU Berlin) and L'Acoustic (Paris). Lindau has authored over 1,800 citations (2024), with an h-index of 23.
