معرفی
Dr. Alexander Haber is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, affiliated with the School of Mathematics and the STAG Research Centre. His work bridges theoretical physics and astrophysical observations, focusing on the properties of dense nuclear and quark matter through gravitational wave studies of binary neutron star mergers.
Research Interests:
- Dense nuclear and quark matter
- Gravitational waves
- Neutron stars and their mergers
- Dissipation and transport in extreme environments
Current Research: Alexander investigates how transport and dissipation mechanisms influence gravitational wave signals from binary neutron star mergers, aiming to uncover the fundamental composition of matter under extreme densities and temperatures. This work involves collaborations on Cosmic Explorer projects and employs advanced computational tools like the MUSES calculation engine.
Biography: He earned his PhD at TU Wien (Vienna) under Andreas Schmitt, studying superfluidity in dense matter. After postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis with Mark Alford, he joined Southampton in 2024 via a UKRI-funded Marie Curie fellowship to explore deconfined quark matter in neutron stars.
Scientific Awards:
- Marie Curie Fellowship funded by UKRI
Leadership: Alexander co-leads the Cosmic Explorer - Science Traceability Matrix group on dense matter, integrating theoretical models with observational data.
