Alexander Felson is the Elisabeth Murdoch Chair of Landscape Architecture at the University of Melbourne and an affiliated staff member on the Connecticut Connections Coastal Resilience Plan. His expertise integrates landscape architecture with urban ecology, focusing on coastal adaptation and ecological design. Previously, he served as Deputy Executive Director and Director of Resilience Design at CIRCA and held a joint appointment between the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and Architecture at Yale University.
His research interests center on science-based risk assessment, resilience framework development, and community-driven ecological solutions for coastal regions. Notable projects include bioretention gardens in Bridgeport, resilience planning in Guilford, contributions to Rebuild by Design, and the Regional Resilience Framework Plan with the Nature Conservancy.
Felson collaborates on developing municipal economic planning tools for coastal adaptation and serves on the State Agencies Fostering Resilience (SAFR) Council. His professional practice extends to national resilience projects in Miami and California.
