Alexander Dobin

Dr. Alexander Dobin is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) and a member of the CSHL Cancer Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Minnesota (2003) and has led the Dobin Laboratory since 2018.

His research focuses on genomics, computational biology, and epigenomics, with key contributions to

• RNA-seq analysis tools (STAR, STAR-Fusion)
• Single-cell transcriptomics
• Non-coding genome annotation
• Multi-omics integration

His work addresses cancer mechanisms, precision medicine, and human-specific regulatory evolution.
