Dr. Alexander Cole is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Department of Psychiatry's interventional psychiatry service. His clinical focus includes evaluating and treating acutely ill psychiatric patients in inpatient settings and managing treatment-resistant cases via transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine-based treatments, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). He also serves on the psychiatric emergency service at Parkland Memorial Hospital and maintains a private practice in Plano.
- Education: Baylor University (B.S., Biochemistry, magna cum laude); University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine (M.D.); UT Southwestern Medical Center (Psychiatry Residency, Chief Resident).
Dr. Cole’s clinical and research interests span mood disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and psychopharmacology. He actively contributes to medical education, serving as course director for psychopharmacology and Frontiers in Medicine courses, and chairs the Chief Residents' Council at UT Southwestern.
