Alexander Bloedel is an Assistant Professor of Economics at UCLA. His research focuses on economic theory, mechanism design, dynamic games, and bounded rationality. He explores costly information acquisition, rational inattention in strategic settings, and dynamic incentive problems with applications in macroeconomics and political economy.
Education: Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University. Prior to UCLA, he was a Linde Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech.
Research interests include applied economic theory, game theory, and microeconomic theory with an emphasis on information economics and policy implications.
Recent work analyzes persistent private information dynamics, optimal persuasion strategies for rationally inattentive agents, and the interplay between insurance systems and inequality.
