معرفی
Alexander B. Pine, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology) at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in blood clotting disorders and antiphospholipid syndrome. He holds dual faculty appointments in the Department of Medicine and is affiliated with the Yale Cancer Center and Creed House. His research focuses on proteomic profiling, coagulation disorders, and autoimmune mechanisms in thrombosis. Pine completed his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University and a PhD in biomedical engineering from Drexel University. He trained in internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Education & Training:
- Clinical Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology, Yale School of Medicine (2020)
- Residency, Yale New Haven Hospital (2015)
- Internship, Yale New Haven Hospital (2013)
- MD, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (2012)
- PhD, Drexel University (2002)
Research Interests:
Pine’s work integrates proteomics, clinical trials, and translational research to address hypercoagulability in conditions like antiphospholipid syndrome, cancer-associated thrombosis, and post-COVID-19 endotheliopathy. His studies have identified biomarkers for disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and cytokine release syndrome (CRS) in CAR T-cell therapy. Collaborations include the Antiphospholipid Syndrome Alliance for Clinical Trials and International Networking (APS ACTION) registry.
Publications:
Pine’s recent work highlights proteomic signatures in antiphospholipid syndrome phenotypes, neutrophil activation in severe COVID-19, and clinical guidelines for cancer-related thrombosis. His articles emphasize translational applications of proteomics and precision medicine in hematology.
Awards:
- Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program Annual Research Award (Yale Cancer Center, 2020)
Advising & Grants:
Pine mentors residents and fellows in hematology research. His grants include studies on anticoagulant efficacy in thrombosis recurrences and proteomic profiling of cytokine-driven toxicities in immunotherapy.
Labs/Teams:
Active in the APS ACTION registry and collaborations with the Yale Cancer Center, focusing on translational hematology research.
