Dr. Alexander Aguayo is a Lecturer at the Princeton Writing Program, specializing in the intersection of lyric theory, translation studies, and the poetry of the Americas. His research examines the concept of voice in contemporary Black women's lyric poetry and its cross-cultural translations across Brazil, Cuba, and the United States.
As a literary translator working between Spanish and English, his translations, interviews, and book reviews have appeared in prestigious publications such as Latin American Literature Today, The Massachusetts Review, and Words Without Borders. He is currently preparing the translation of Xavier Stanziola's The Myth of Gravity for Inti Press.
His scholarly work focuses on transnational literary exchange and the theoretical implications of poetic voice in diasporic contexts.
