Dr. Alex Reisenbichler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. He serves as research coordinator for the Joint Initiative of German and European Studies (JIGES). His research focuses on the political economy of housing markets, financial systems, and labor markets in advanced economies, with particular attention to Western Europe and the US.
Reisenbichler holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from George Washington University and a B.A. from the University of Leipzig. His work examines how states and markets interact in shaping economic outcomes, notably through his forthcoming book Through the Roof: Housing, Capitalism, and the State in America and Germany under contract with Cambridge University Press.
