معرفی
Dr. Alex Lukyanov is a Senior Research Fellow/Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at the University of Reading's Department of Mathematics and Statistics, part of the School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences. He holds roles as Department Health and Safety Co-ordinator, Fire Warden, and Evacuation Officer.
He earned his PhD in 1994 from the I.E. Tamm Theoretical Physics Department. His research focuses on capillary flows, wetting dynamics, moving contact lines, and complex interface phenomena, with applications in porous media and fluid dynamics. Notable contributions include modeling superfast nonlinear diffusion in particulate systems and analyzing oil slick dynamics in marine environments.
His work spans experimental and theoretical studies, bridging fluid dynamics, soft condensed matter, and computational physics. Recent publications (2021–2025) emphasize environmental and biomedical applications, such as proton transport modeling for cancer therapy and capillary behavior in semi-confined geometries.
- Research Groups: Complex Fluids and Theoretical Polymer Physics
- Key Projects: Capillary transport in porous media, surface permeability analysis, and interfacial instability in industrial systems
