Alex Kustanovich

Alex Kustanovich is an Adjunct Professor of Screenwriting affiliated with Maharishi International University (MIU) and St. Francis College, Brooklyn, NY. He teaches in the MFA in Screenwriting program at MIU’s David Lynch Graduate School (online) and mentors students in St. Francis College’s MFA in Creative Writing program. Originally from Belarus, he has over two decades of experience as a screenwriting instructor and story consultant.

• MFA in Screenwriting, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

Research Interests: Kustanovich specializes in narrative development for film and television, cross-cultural storytelling, and collaborative screenwriting processes. His work spans feature films, TV series, and international co-productions, with projects developed in the US, Canada, Germany, Estonia, Israel, Japan, and Russia. A current TV project he co-created is under option with Berlin-based production company Eitelsonnenschein.

Teaching & Outreach: Conducts writing workshops globally, including New York City, Tallinn (Estonia), and Moscow (Russia). Focuses on nurturing creative voices through immersive, practice-based pedagogy.

Professional Projects: Has written feature films for international producers and maintains active collaborations across multiple film industries. Specializes in bridging creative vision with market-ready narratives.
