Dr Alex Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Swansea University's School of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. His research focuses on psychological data science, face perception, first impressions, attractiveness judgments, and health perception. He employs modern computational techniques and Bayesian statistical methods to explore theoretical and applied human behavior contexts. Jones is also engaged in methodological reform in psychology to address reproducibility challenges.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate modules on evolution and human behavior, critical social psychology, and postgraduate courses on programming (Python), statistical inference, and open science practices. He supervises PhD students in topics like face perception and social perception dynamics.
