Alex Haskins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations at Wheaton College (IL). His research examines imperialism, colonialism, and Christianity's political legacies through comparative political theory frameworks spanning Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Scholarship focuses on thinkers like Montesquieu, Fukuzawa Yukichi, and W.E.B. Du Bois to analyze how historical power structures inform contemporary issues of justice, international law, and multiculturalism. Current book projects explore domination in political philosophy across cultural contexts.
Teaching includes courses on African Politics, Political Philosophy, and the Spirit of Laws. He connects political theory to global justice debates through interdisciplinary lenses.
