Alex DEMEULENAERE is a Professor of Comparative Literature and Francophonie at the UFR Arts Lettres et Langues (Metz), University of Lorraine, where he is also affiliated with the Écritures research center. He previously served as a lecturer at Trier University (2007–2022) and held an adjunct professorship at Kiel University (2021). He earned his PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures from KU Leuven in 2007 and completed his habilitation in Romance Literatures at the University of Trier in 2019.
