Alessia Ciogli

Alessia Ciogli is an Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry (SSD: CHEM-05/A) at Sapienza University of Rome's Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. She joined the faculty as a University Researcher in 2010 and was promoted to Associate Professor in November 2019. Her educational background includes a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2005) and a Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology (2001), both from Sapienza University, followed by postdoctoral research at Sapienza and the University of Vienna.

Her research focuses on two primary domains: (1) Advanced chromatographic methodologies including synthesis of next-generation UHPLC/UHPSFC stationary phases and enantiomer separation techniques; and (2) Stereochemical investigation of chiral molecules with emphasis on stereolabile species and organocatalytic asymmetric synthesis. Recent work explores mass spectrometry applications in reaction mechanism studies and heterogeneous catalytic systems.
