Dr Alessandro Vatri is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Classics and Ancient History at Durham University. His research focuses on Ancient Greek linguistics, cognitive mechanisms of language perception, and computational semantics. He has held positions at Oxford, Cambridge, and the Alan Turing Institute, contributing to interdisciplinary projects such as the Diorisis Ancient Greek Corpus and its companion app. His work bridges classical studies with digital humanities, emphasizing linguistic analysis in Attic prose and ancient stylistics.
Key contributions include his monograph Orality and Performance in Classical Attic Prose: A Linguistic Approach (OUP, 2017) and co-edited volumes on ancient rhetoric and stylistics.
