Dr. Alessandro Vatri is a Research Fellow in the Department of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Durham. His work focuses on analyzing Ancient Greek as a communicative medium to reconstruct cognitive mechanisms of its native use. He has held post-doctoral positions at Oxford, Cambridge, Venice, and the Alan Turing Institute, and taught Greek linguistics at Oxford. His research spans ancient stylistics, cognitive aspects of language, imperial literary criticism, and computational semantics.
