Alessandro Guasti

Alessandro Guasti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Society, Politics and Sustainability, ESADE Business School. His research focuses on global trade's impact on labor standards and climate policy, employing methods like spatial econometrics and field experiments. He teaches global political economy at the undergraduate level.
Previously, he was a postdoctoral research fellow (2020–2024) at the Centre for Corporate Reputation, Oxford Saïd Business School.

Research Interests: Analyzes how firms respond to regulatory frameworks in global value chains, with a focus on labor rights and climate policy. Recent work explores conditional cash transfers' role in mitigating climate vulnerability and debunks the 'race to the bottom' hypothesis in global trade.
