Alessandro Fedrizzi is a Professor at Heriot-Watt University, affiliated with the School of Engineering & Physical Sciences and the Institute of Photonics and Quantum Sciences. He holds an EPSRC Early Career Quantum Technology Fellowship. His research focuses on photonic quantum technology, including quantum communication, computation, and metrology, with an emphasis on scalable hybrid quantum systems. Fedrizzi completed his PhD in 2008 under Anton Zeilinger at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information in Vienna. Prior to joining Heriot-Watt in 2015, he worked at the University of Queensland, Australia, on an ARC Discovery Early Career Award.
