معرفی
Alessandro Colasanti is a Professor specializing in neuroimaging and affective disorders. His research focuses on biological mechanisms underlying mood disorders using PET and MRI techniques, with a translational emphasis on neuroinflammation in depression and endogenous opioid systems. He has led three major research projects from 2014 to 2018, investigating brain metabolic reserve, glucocorticoid effects on inflammation, and TSPO gene impacts in bipolar disorder. Current work explores neuroinflammatory processes in multiple sclerosis-associated depression and endogenous opioid dynamics across patient populations. Future studies aim to use PET imaging to study stress-induced immune responses in the brain. He has published 47 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to high-impact journals like The Lancet Psychiatry and Biological Psychiatry.

Research interests include PET/MRI applications, neuroimmune interactions, and translational neuropharmacology. Over 2975 citations highlight his contributions to neuropsychiatric imaging research.
