Alessandra Merlini

Alessandra Merlini is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at the University of Turin. She specializes in medical oncology, with a focus on translational research in lung cancer, sarcomas, and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). Her work emphasizes genomic profiling, precision medicine, and immunotherapy development. She contributes to initiatives like the European Program for ROutine testing of Patients with Advanced Lung Cancer (EPROPA), which aims to improve access to clinical trials through molecular profiling.

Her research investigates tumor biology, imaging biomarkers, and drug response prediction. She has led studies on CT imaging features for GIST risk stratification and developed CAR.CIK cell therapies for sarcomas.
