Dr. hab. Aleksandra Dąbrowska is a Professor at the University of Gdańsk in the Faculty of Chemistry, Department of Bioinorganic Chemistry, leading the Laboratory of Intermolecular Interactions. Her research specializes in organic synthesis of coordination compounds, particularly saccharide derivatives that interact with biometal ions for pharmacological and biochemical applications.
Her work employs advanced spectroscopic methods to study drug-receptor interactions, DNA binding, and enzyme inhibition mechanisms. Recent publications focus on developing carbazole-based anticancer agents, metal complex sensors for therapeutic monitoring, and novel HIV inhibitors through structural optimization of nucleoside derivatives.
Professor Dąbrowska mentors students in chemistry research and scientific career development, emphasizing creativity and interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving in bioinorganic chemistry.
