Aleksandr Zozulia is a Research Fellow (Postdoc) in the Photonic Integration Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on high-speed photonic integration technologies, including InP membrane lasers, semiconductor modulators, and wafer-scale fabrication processes. He holds a MSc from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (2020) and a specialist degree in Optical Devices from Bauman Moscow State Technical University (2018). His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through advancements in photonic communication systems.
Education:
- 2018: Specialist Degree in Optical Devices, Bauman Moscow State Technical University
- 2020: MSc in Technology (High-speed modulators), Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology
Research interests include:
- Development of InP-based photonic integrated circuits
- Thermal management in semiconductor lasers
- 3D integration of InP and silicon substrates
- Lithography techniques for nanophotonic devices
Recent work trends show a strong emphasis on InP membrane technologies, with publications addressing thermal sinks, waveguide design, and high-precision bonding processes. His PhD thesis (2024) systematically explores high-speed directly modulated lasers and their applications in optical communication systems.
Advising and collaborations involve projects on photon-photon resonance modulation and wafer-scale distortion mapping. His research leverages advanced fabrication techniques like ArF scanner lithography and BCB bonding.
