Dr. Aleksander Kostka is a Scientist at the Materials Research Department, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, and affiliated with the Zentrum für interdisziplinäre Geräteentwicklung (ZGH). Formerly, he served as Group Leader of Microstructure Analysis at the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research (MPIE) in Düsseldorf (2006–2014). His research focuses on advanced electron microscopy, microstructural analysis of engineering materials, deformation mechanisms, and phase stability during material processing.
