Aleksander Franta

Aleksander Franta (1925-2019) was a Polish architect and academic affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture at Silesian University of Technology. As co-founder of the 'Green Horses' design collective with Henryk Buszka and Jerzy Gottfried, he shaped Poland's postwar architectural landscape.

His career spanned academic and professional practice, including chairing the Katowice branch of SARP (Polish Architects Association) and establishing the General Construction Design Studio. Major projects include Rybnik Land Theatre and Katowice's Millennium Housing Estate.
