Alejandro Perez Caldentey

Alejandro Perez Caldentey serves as University Professor in the Department of Continuous Mechanics and Structural Theory at the Technical University of Madrid since 2003, while simultaneously leading FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores as President of the Board of Directors since 2021 and chairing the CEN TC/250/SC2 committee for Eurocode 2 standards since August 2023.

His academic foundation includes a Civil Engineering degree specializing in Structures and Geotechnics from UPM (1989) and a PhD completed in 1996. Key professional milestones feature Senior Engineer (1992), Team Leader (1999), Director of Public Works Department (2005), and Director of R&D (2008) at FHECOR.

Research focuses on structural engineering with emphasis on concrete structures, building construction, and mechanics of materials. His international standardization work includes 11 years as Spanish representative for Eurocode 2 development (2012-2023) and continuous involvement with fib Task Group 2.1 on Serviceability Models since 2002, where he was proposed as coordinator in 2024.
