Prof. Dr. Alejandro Ibarra holds the Chair of Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) under the TUM School of Natural Sciences. His research focuses on extensions of the Standard Model to address fundamental questions in particle physics and cosmology.
Research Interests:
- Physics beyond the Standard Model
- Neutrino mass generation and oscillations
- Supersymmetry and dark matter
- Leptogenesis and baryon asymmetry
- Dark matter detection signatures
- Renormalization group equations for effective theories
Scientific Contributions: His recent publications analyze boosted dark matter from semi-annihilations, dark stars in the 21-cm signal, and the electromagnetic properties of dark matter candidates. Earlier work established neutrino mass bounds from leptogenesis and renormalization group frameworks.
