Alejandro Egea Vivancos is a Professor of Social Sciences Didactics at the Faculty of Education, University of Murcia, Spain. His academic journey includes a PhD in History (2003) and MA degrees in Ancient History/Archaeology (1998) and Social Anthropology (2007). He specializes in integrating archaeology, cultural heritage, and historical methodology into education. His research focuses on Roman hydraulic engineering, heritage education, and teaching history in secondary schools.
Egea Vivancos has led projects like the AQVA initiative (2006–2008), analyzing Roman water systems in Murcia, and the Archeobohio project, which brings archaeology into secondary classrooms. He coordinates the research group LABORATORIO TEMPORAL: LATE and serves as editorial coordinator for PANTA REI journal. His international collaborations include research stays at institutions in Syria, Germany, the UK, and the US.
Key research interests include the role of material culture in education, historical thinking development, and the application of archaeology in teaching. He advocates for innovative pedagogical strategies using digital tools and heritage resources. His over 70 publications span historical studies, archaeological analysis, and educational methodologies.
