Jorge Alejandro Eiroa Rodriguez is a Professor at the Department of Prehistory, Archaeology, Ancient History, Medieval History and Historiographic Sciences and Techniques at the Universidad de Murcia. He specializes in Medieval Archaeology with a focus on Al-Andalus and Jewish communities in the Iberian Peninsula. His research integrates archaeological, historical, and interdisciplinary methods to study medieval urban structures, material culture, and socio-cultural dynamics.
Education: PhD from Universidad de Murcia (2003) with a thesis on historical-archaeological sources for the study of the Middle Ages in the Murcia region (12th-15th centuries).
Research Interests: Islamic archaeology, agrarian landscapes, domestic spaces, and the archaeology of medieval Jewish communities. He leads projects like the San Esteban Archaeological Site and has excavated the synagogue in Lorca Castle, a key reference in Jewish medieval studies.
Grants/Projects: Principal investigator of the AICO/2020/044 project on domestic spaces in the medieval Kingdom of Valencia. Collaborates in multidisciplinary initiatives involving historical geography and heritage management.
