Alejandra Rubio is a Lecturer of Media Production at the Reynolds School of Journalism, University of Nevada, Reno. She is a member of the Yavapai-Apache Nation and grew up in Camp Verde, Arizona, where she developed an appreciation for storytelling as a means of preserving cultural practices and interdependent relationships between land, culture, and community.

She captures intimate narratives in settings ranging from brothels and protests to biker gangs and Native ceremonies.
Awarded the Eddie Adams Class of XXXV - Jay Westcott Perseverance Award, Alejandra has contributed as a photojournalist to prominent outlets like the New York Times, NBC News, USA Today, and High Country News. She also collaborates with clients to define visual content strategies that align with their branding and storytelling goals.
