Alejandra Pulido Saavedra, MD, is a Postdoctoral Associate and Researcher at the Yale Cocaine Research Clinic, affiliated with the Yale School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry. She is mentored by Gustavo Angarita, MD, MHS, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Yale Cocaine Research Clinic. Her work focuses on clinical neuroscience and addiction research, particularly synaptic density alterations in cocaine use disorder using PET imaging technology, funded by a NIDA grant (1 RO1 DA052454-01A1).
Dr. Pulido Saavedra earned her MD at Javeriana University in Colombia. She has received international recognition through travel awards from the American Society of Hispanic Psychiatry (2024) and the International Society of Addiction Medicine (2025), enabling her to present research findings at global conferences. Her scientific contributions bridge psychiatric neuroimaging with substance abuse epidemiology.
