Alefiya Albers is a Professor at Endicott College's School of Social Sciences, Communication and Humanities. She joined Endicott in 2008 after completing her doctoral research on genetic animal models of schizophrenia at Columbia University. Her research has evolved to focus on olfaction and brain health, particularly through two major projects: (1) studying olfactory changes in collegiate rugby players with sub-concussive head injuries, and (2) collaborating with Massachusetts General Hospital to investigate olfactory dysfunction as an early predictor of Alzheimer's disease in aging populations.
